Black Sherif, real name Mohammed Ismail Sherif, has stated on Kastle FM in Cape Coast that he wants to defy the odds and succeed without being signed to a record label.

“In this society, you have to be able to beat the odds to succeed in the music scene because we don’t always see others do the same,” he vowed.

“Where I come from in Konongo, the perspective we had as kids was that once you’re into music, a record label must sign you or help you get to the top,” he continued.

Speaking on the Kastle Entertainment Show, hosted by Amansan Krakye, Black Sherif stated that he is determined to succeed in music as a solo artiste without support in order to inspire others to do the same.

“It’s very difficult doing music alone without any support,” he said, “but I didn’t come this far to lose, so I can’t stop doing it.”

“It’s very difficult, but if I keep trying until I succeed, it will inspire others who want to achieve greatness,” he told the host.
