3D Events Management, the organizers of the annual regional media Awards, have announced that the winners of this year’s edition will receive cash prizes as well as plots of land.
The Bono Ahafo Media Awards scheme honors outstanding media personalities and media organizations whose work demonstrates exemplary leadership in creating a vision and a future for Ghana’s media platform.
Mr Derrick Mensah, popularly known as Chairman Demenz, Chief Executive Officer of 3D Events Management, said in an interview with Sunyani based radio station, “Over the years our company has organized several awards schemes and has given so many prizes to our cherished winners from brand new Laptops, home theatres, to television sets to all winners. Just Last year, we gave a brand new car to the winner with highest votes in Ashanti Region Music awards.’’
He stated that this is a change from the norm of plaques given to winners in previous years.
The CEO, on the other hand, revealed that this year’s event will award cash prizes to the ten category winners who receive the most votes. The winner with the most votes will receive a piece of land.
“We have given award winners so many things over the years, and as a result of our success stories with other award schemes, we decided to replicate it in the Bono and Ahafo regions as well,” he says. We only gave out award plaques last year. Certainly, we will do the same to the winners this year, but this time we have included some nice packages to add, but only for 10 of the winners with terms and conditions.”
Last year, the morning show host of Space fm in Sunyani, Yaw Preko, also known as Decay, was named overall media personality of the year for his contributions to the region’s media work. Radio BAR was also named media house of the year for its contributions to the development of the Bono and Ahafo regions.
Last year’s event, which was graced by a large number of radio and television personalities as well as a section of creative industry stakeholders, was held at the main auditorium of Sunyani Technical University.
