Kwadwo Dickson, General Manager of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), has confirmed the suspension of Captain Smart, the host of the station’s morning show.

According to him, management made the decision based on the decision made by ABN’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Kwaku Oteng.

Captain Smart’s constant attacks on government officials, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, he added, prompted the CEO’s decision.

In a video obtained by iDO GH News, the ABN general manager stated that the CEO has had several conversations with Captain Smart, but the suspended broadcaster always returns to the airwaves to do whatever he wants.

“It is true Captain Smart has been suspended by the owner of Angel Broadcasting for speaking out against government officials such as President Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr Bawumia, Alan Kyeremanten,” he said.

“He (the CEO) advised him on several occasions, but (Smart) refused to listen to his advice, which resulted in his suspension,” he said on Angel FM.

He claims that “It’s unclear how long he’ll be gone. Management has not officially communicated this to the company’s employees.”

In addition, “Some top government officials have complained and put pressure on Captain Smart because of his comments on his show. The station’s management is concerned about how he sometimes attacks personalities rather than staying focused on the issues he discusses. They removed him from the air after several warnings and complaints/pressure from some disgruntled top officials “He stated this in a Facebook post seen by the iDO GH News Team.
